Vida Healthcare is a specialist dementia care provider, offering quality, person-centred care, state-of-the-art facilities and all the comforts of home. The company uses the latest research and best practice in dementia care, and will work closely with the team from Nanu Soda to create a bespoke environment to foster a sense of wellbeing and improved quality of life.
For Nanu Soda, the project presents very individual challenges; interior design is a vital issue for people living with dementia. For Vida Healthcare, the focus will be on contrasting colours with combinations of light and dark to promote cognitive benefits. Lighting will also play a critical role, optimising the use of natural light to impact positively on the physiological states. Special colours and finishes will combine with cutting edge, contemporary materials to create an attractive and robust environment.
The new carehome has been designed to create a warm and welcoming space. The lobby presents a double height meeting space appealing to both families and residents, creating familiar surroundings with amenities like a shop, a café and a hairdressing salon. There are two residential wings creating seven areas to allow for differing dementia specialisms.
The project is expected to be onsite by October 2019.

First opened in 1991, this popular boutique hotel in the heart of Leeds, once a riverside flour mill, is now under new ownership and is undergoing a complete refit. The Nanu Soda team is really enjoying working alongside the new owners to realise their vision to redevelop 42 The Calls into breathtaking accommodation, putting the venue back on the map as the best luxury hotel in Leeds.
